Specializing in Secretariat/Nijinsky II X Nimmerdor Bloodlines for Superior Warmblood Performance Horses

Horses For Sale $10,000 and Up
Unless otherwise noted, all One Iron horses are sold with a first-refusal buy-back option. It is important that we match up abilities and personalities of horse and rider. We also believe most horses and owners perform better with a long-term partner. We discourage the practice of quick buying and selling of horses, and want our horses to have good, long-term homes.

The horses on this page are not available for lease.

****NOW OFFERED FOR SALE -- Kalypso's Hot Koco, Warmblood Stud Colt!***

If you are familiar with the following names, you know how impressive this stud colt is:
* Kalypso
* Guter Fang
* Kronenkranich
* Grandferdinand
* Bold Ruler
* Servus
* Prinz Gaylord
and that is just on his Dam Kiwi's side!

Dam: Kiwi, American Hanoverian (Kalypso X Peaches). Kalypso passed away early but is known as an excellent mare producer and hunter producer. He distinguished himself by producing the high-selling two-year-old, yearling and weanling fillies of the 10 Glennwood Farm Sporthorse Auctions.  Excellent jumping ability is delivered in his pedigree through the blood of Ferdinand, Grande, and Servus. Prinz Gaylord, a Westphalian by Perlkonig, also descends from a line of Grand Prix jumpers. He himself competed at all levels up to Grand Prix. His dam, Golden Gate by Goldberg (Gotthard), was herself a grand Prix jumper who won more than 30 European jumping Championships. His Grand Dam, Petra by Papayer xx, was an international Grand Prix jumping champion and jumping champion of all Germany.

Due to Kalypso's early death, there are not many mares with this lineage left.

Sire: Aliant, 1992 KWPN Stallion (Telstar X Upali). Telstar is by Nimmerdor, 2000 Horse of the Century. The legendary Nimmerdor was out of the Dutch WB ster mare Ramona, which featured thoroughbred on her sire's side and Dutch warmblood (grandsire Senator) on the dam's side. When Nimmerdor was performance tested, he clearly excelled at jumping and so began his steady progression onto the world of International Show Jumping. He successfully competed in many World Cups and International Competitions. He was invited to the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984, but his owner decided to focus on his breeding duties. Nimmerdor's progeny have since proven themselves many times the world over, with over 40 approved stallions worldwide and over 60 International Show Jumpers among his offspring. Nimmerdor is ranked 14th in the WBFSH ranking for the worldwide best sire of show jumpers. Undoubtedly, Nimmerdor is one of the best show-jumper sires of the world, and also produced successful dressage horses.

Telstar, Nimmerdor's first approved son, was the foundation sire of Carbondale Farms and died at the age of 26 in 2003 -- the same year that Nimmerdor died at the age of 31. Telstar was ranked seventh in North America for producing dressage horses.

Early measurements put Kalypso's Hot Koco (Coco) at 17.1h at full maturity, conservatively. The colt already stands at 15.2-15.3. He has a very good temperament and is very willing.

We will be showing his dam, Kiwi,  in Jumper classes at "A" shows in Spring 2008, so watch for updates and photos. She has not been shown in several years but when we got on her this Spring, it was like she was ridden yesterday.

Wonderful children's prospect.

Abbie first time jumping 3 feet at age 2! Look at that neck!

***NEW VIDEO of Abbie at her first show!!
First video is of 3 year old H/J class (July); 2nd is Hopeful Jumper (Aug)

Abbie will be 4 in January 2009. She is a beautiful dark bay with Secretariat X Nimmerdor bloodlines who is now about 16h high. Abbie was very gently backed as a 2 year old but not worked or ridden under saddle. We would go months without getting on her and she was just as quiet and gentle each time. Her trainer has had nothing but glowing reports. She is very scopey, has a wonderful disposition, and is an ideal equitation or jumper prospect. Has never learned how to misbehave and always loves her job. Very sane for her age.

Abbie's personality seems suitable for any level of rider with the adequate training and more experience.

Rain Dancer ("Aria") - Warmblood Cross (Registered with Performance Horse Registry)

***NEW Video of Aria****

If you're thinking you'd like a dressage or eventing horse to train your way, this is the one for you. Aria has Nijinsky II/Nimmerdor in her bloodlines and will turn 3 in January 2009. She is a beautiful and unusual red roan with lots of chrome, I've never seen coloring like this in a warmblood! Aria has a competitive spirit and is very mature for her age. She enjoys working and loves kind and firm leadership. We have backed her about 3 or 4 times and she was as calm and cool as could be. We won't do much of anything with her now until she's 3, so if you'd like an amazing horse to train or have trained, now is a good time to buy her.

Please see our ads for Abbie and Aria on www.horsetopia.com and www.dreamhorse.com, and Abbie on www.equine.com.
